Orthotics Don’t Fit Any of My Shoes

Quite often we get complaints from people who say the orthotics they got from somewhere else don’t fit into any of their shoes.

Well first thing to remember is that you got the orthotics because doctor said you needed them. So you have to be able to wear them.

Let’s talk about the different types of orthotics and why they may not fit into your shoes.

The main piece of an orthotic is the shell. This shell is the piece that goes from your heel to the end of the arch. This is the meat and potatoes of the orthotic.

We then put different layers of covering on top of the orthotic. You can have a full length cover or you can have a 3/4 length cover.  Orthotics can be made super thin like dress orthotics or they can be made quite thick like a sport orthotic.

Different Orthotics are made for different functions, so if you’re finding that you have trouble fitting the orthotic into your shoes let us know – there are many things we can do to help. Call Burlington Orthotic Centre today at 905-331-4391 for details.
