Bunions 2

We get a lot of questions about bunions. A bunion is the bump on the inside or the top of the big toe joint in your foot, and they can be pretty painful. So first of all it’s good to know what causes bunions.

Footwear – narrow footwear or high heel footwear can cause bunions. Genetics is also a factor. The way your body mechanics function and the structure of your foot can make a big difference in bunion formation. Our goal is to give you some non-invasive options to help treat your bunion. It’s important to know that we can’t reverse what’s already been done but we can help slow down the progression of your bunions.

First of all custom orthotics. There are many types of custom orthotics that we can make depending on what style of footwear you have. We also have bunion aligners and bunion splints. These will help keep the joints straight and while you’re sleeping so as not to create more inflammation.

Call Burlington Orthotic Centre today at 905-331-4391 for more solutions to your bunion pains.
